Guidelines
1. This is a multi-muse, semi-selective OC blog. Both OCs and canon characters are welcome!2. I do asks and threads, whatever is easier for my partner. Usually, my replies are two small paragraphs or longer. I write in third person, and generally use the present tense.3. If you want to interact with a specific muse/AU, please tell me. If an ask is sent without previous plotting, and no specification, I’ll pick the muse I’m feeling the most like.4. I try my best not to drop threads, but if I’ve just lost the muse for them, I will give you due warning, and I hope you do the same for me. Sometimes the Mental Illness do just be like that.5. Call me Apis. He/they. Queer. I'm 21+, and work a full-time job as an agricultural researcher and PhD student. My timezone is GMT (same as London and Lisbon). I've been writing these characters on this site since 2015. I'm not very good at talking about myself, but I think I'm fairly friendly, if reserved. The Muses
Adam aka Ace

Quick Overview: Victor's middle son, Adrian's younger brother and Aaron's older twin. Unemployed, previously an Army mechanic. Loves working with machines. Suffers from PTSD, is missing his left lower limbs, has impaired vision and hearing on his left side, and burn scars cover the left half of his body. Extremely poor health. Lives with Aaron, is severely abused. Lethargic, sad, obedient, Ace doesn't have much energy for anything anymore. He's not allowed to leave the house or use any sort of communication devices.

Quick Overview: Youngest of the three sons. Abattoir technician. Recovered drug addict. Murderer. Hedonistic, sadistic, arrogant, impulsive. His heart is weak from his drug abuse. Has dyslexia, hates reading, atrocious handwriting. Lives away from the family with his twin, Ace, whom he neglects and abuses. Aaron enjoys this position of power immensely and has made sure the family and Ace cannot reconcile.

The Story So Far
The Distant PastAbraham Graves met Jacob in the newborn United States in the early 1800s. They drafted the Rules that would guide the next generations of their new family and acquired their firstborn, a little boy left at Jacob’s church’s door. Charles and his brother George would continue their father and uncle’s legacy, following the same code drafted years prior.Family above all else.
Only healthy baby boys may be taken in. The weak must be disposed of.
It is not safe to trust anyone from the outside. No one may leave the family nor give their hearts to anyone from the outside.
The firstborn will always lead, unless he is found weak or perishes.
No youngest may have children of his own.
There may be a third son, to guarantee the continuation of the family should something happen to the elder sons.Tragic YearsSpanning the next five generations, tragedy from within haunted the family. Love slowly devolved into cruelty, reaching its lowest with Matthew Graves.After his uncle’s death, Matthew’s father met an untimely and suspicious end.Matthew was a dreadful father and brother. His firstborn, Victor, was barely able to flee his father by going away to study at college, leaving his younger brothers Colin and Eric at his father’s mercy.Everything crumbled when Eric, the youngest, fell in love and planned to run away. Joseph, his uncle and Matthew’s brother, knew of the plan and endorsed it, wanting better for his nephews. However, Matthew found Eric’s preparations and mercilessly killed the boy, barely fifteen years old.In the confrontation that followed between Matthew and his brother, Joseph never reemerged from the office.Victor rushed back home to support his remaining brother, hoping to protect him. Trying to shake himself from the deaths, Colin begged Victor to take in his first son.
Victor acquiesced, to see his brother happy again. Baby Jonathan, however, started having seizures a few days after being taken in.Pressuring Victor to get rid of the weak babe, Matthew took it upon himself when his son refused.
Less than a month after that blow, fueled by anger and grief, Victor put an end to his father’s terrible reign.Turning PointVictor was forced to raise his first son, Adrian, alone while Colin coped with the loss of their child, younger brother, uncle and father, all in the span of four months.As his brother started helping with the boy’s education, Victor decided that it was time for the second son. He had no intention of acquiring twins, but he found he couldn’t leave one infant at the mercy of the system.The twins, Aaron and Adam, were eight when Colin went behind his brother’s back and became a foster parent, bringing another infant home with the full intention of adopting him. Despite it being so clearly against the rules, Victor refused to be a reflection of his father.The boy was named Michael, and his younger brother Jasper was taken in years later.When the twins were seventeen, Ace ran away after a violent incident where Aaron hurt him terribly. Ace asked Adrian for help, but was turned away. His brother’s disappearance sent Aaron spiraling, turning to drugs, alcohol and violence, and Adrian distanced himself from the rest of the family, pursuing a career as a traveling photographer.With Ace’s return from the military seven years later, body destroyed by an explosion, Aaron jumped at the opportunity of having someone so completely under his thumb, and took his twin in, isolating him so thoroughly from the rest of the world that no one could reach out to help him. Ace was cut off from friends, from David, his fiancé, from the rest of the family.
